Delighting in God's Word

As I sit on my bed reading the Bible I am amazed at all of the amazing stories. I love how the Bible teaches us how to live a more Godly life. It’s like instructions and guidance all in one book. I recently just read the book of Galatians and I thoroughly enjoyed it. This book in the Bible reminded me of how to live more Christlike. It was so many verses that stood out to me and I wanted to share a couple of them with you.

Galatian 5:16 says…“So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.” I was reminded to let the Holy Spirit that lives inside of me guide me in my everyday life. Sometimes in life, we want to do our own thing and not listen to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. I truly believe the Holy Spirit speaks to us every day; we just have to take the time to listen. I was also reminded that I need to follow the Holy Spirit's lead to turn away from sin. I know from personal experience it can be difficult to turn away from the desires of the flesh. But when I go to God in prayer, he gives me the strength to turn away from temptation.

The next verse that stood out to me was Galatians 6:9. It says…“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessings if we don’t give up.” There was a point of time in my life where I got tired of doing what is right. Comment below if I’m not the only one that felt this way. In my mind, I was beginning to think…Was doing the right thing even worth it? I started to have doubts whether it even mattered or not. Reading this verse is a great reminder to not get tired of doing what is good. If we are patient, at the right time which is God’s time we will be blessed if we don’t give up.

I Thank God I don’t feel that way anymore because I prefer to live more Christlike. It makes me feel good inside to get up every day and try my best to live right every day. I’m not perfect by any means but I try daily to do the right thing. l also enjoy obeying my Heavenly Father in heaven. I know that it pleases God that I’m choosing to live right as well.

I truly do find delight in reading God’s word because it teaches me how to live a more Godly life. I pray as you read this you can find delight in reading God’s word as well.
