I was sitting in my living room and I was worried about my finances. I started praying to God for guidance and clarity. After I was done praying I closed my eyes and sat in silence to meditate. I was listening for a word from God. After a few moments of silence, I heard the Holy Spirit say to me “Let Go and Let God”. I heard it clear as day. I opened my eyes and I said it out loud “Let go and Let God.” I asked God for confirmation if this was him speaking and not me. The next thing I heard was…it will be in the book I am reading.
The book I am currently reading is called Peaceful on Purpose by Joel Osteen. I opened the book to begin reading Chapter 5 “God’s Got This.” I began reading and on the first page of Chapter 5 I saw it as big as light “Let go and Let God.” My mind was blown and I started thanking the holy spirit for confirmation. In Joel Osteen's book Peaceful on Purpose, he wrote…“He has ways to do it that we’ve never thought of. Instead of trying to force it to happen and living uptight, you have to Let go and Let God. (Chapter 5, pg. 67) Now, what does Let go and Let God mean? It means instead of worrying about your situation, let go and give your problems over to God. God knows your struggles and he is in control. You must have faith in God‘s plan and his timing. Don’t stress about your problems, just put your hope and trust in God. Have faith in God that over time he will show you what to do.
Proverbs 3:5-6 says “ Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways Acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” When you trust in the lord that means you leave no room for doubt. It means you will rely on God‘s promises to help you in every situation. I thank God for reminding me that I needed to put my trust back in him. I would like to share one more thing that is a great reminder as well. I was reading my devotional this morning and It said this. “ You can go ahead and freak out about the situation, or you can choose to believe God is going to be faithful.” So let’s choose the second option and put our trust in God because he is always faithful.
