Who is your Anchor?

God has definitely been speaking to me lately. I will say this when God wants to get his point across he will show you something multiple times until you finally get the picture. A few weeks ago I was praying to God about my purpose and his vision for my life. I was also praying about my finances. I was looking for answers and I thought to myself God is not answering me. I was looking for God to answer my question a certain way a.k.a. my way lol. But what I have learned is God will answer your prayers in his own timing and he will answer your prayer HIS way. And we all know God’s way is always better than our ways.

For the past few weeks, I’ve been noticing the word anchor a lot. I was on YouTube a few weeks ago and there were two different pastors I never watched before in my
recommendations. I watched these two different pastors at different times. I watched the first pastor and he was teaching about being anchored to God and the question was what are you anchored to? The second pastor was teaching about the same thing being anchored. On a different day during my Bible reading, I decided to read the book of Hebrews. I was reading Hebrews 6:19 and it says… “ This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.” And last and not least I was reading my devotional one day and it was focused on James 1: 5-10. The verse that stood out to me was verse 6…“ But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of sea blown and tossed by the wind.”

Now all of this was shown to me at different times and a few days apart. I finally put two and two together and it was like someone turned my lightbulb on. God was telling me that he is the anchor and I needed to trust him more. I hate to admit this but I was praying to God but I still had my doubts.
When you pray to God about something you’re supposed to have faith he will make a way. Even when things are not changing as quickly as you would like. You still have to put your
FAITH and TRUST in God.  So my question is who are you anchored to? I looked up the definition of anchored and it says… “ a heavy object attached to a chain or rope that can be relied on for support, stability, or security.” With that being said, God is our anchor. God is the one we can go to for support, stability, and security. If we continue to keep our Hope in God no matter what comes our way we can stand tall amidst any storm. We may bend but we will not break, Amen.

God wanted to remind me that he is my anchor and that I shouldn’t worry about anything but trust in him. God wants us to hold on to his unchanging hands. If you find yourself overthinking like I was, go to God in prayer and ask Him for direction. But most importantly what I have learned is that once you talk to God, trust that he will make things happen. Praying to God is great but we must also listen to the Holy Spirit who gives us direction. And after you pray thank God in advance and wait in expectancy knowing that God will come through and answer your prayers.
