3 Tips on How to Increase your Faith

Hello everyone and I hope everyone is well!! Today I would like to share with you 3 tips on how you can increase your faith in God. In my last post, I defined the meaning of faith. So I feel it's only right to give tips on how to grow your faith in God. There are many ways to increase your faith but I wanted to share with you what works for me. I pray it can be a blessing for your life as well.

#1 Prayer

Take the time out of your day to have a conversation with God. It is so important to have a prayer life to grow a closer relationship with God and to increase your faith. Matthew 21:22 says "And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith." This scripture alone gives me hope. It lets me know whatever I am asking God for I will receive if I have faith. Now I'm not saying everything you pray for you will get. But I do believe if it aligns with God's will for your life you will receive. Let's be honest, some things we pray for are not always in our best interest. For example, God can you bless me with that fine man I saw in the grocery store. I think we will be cute together lol. Sorry my Sista, it doesn't work that way lol. But if your desires line up with God's desires (Psalms 37:4)  I truly believe God will bless you.

So prayer is such a great way to increase your faith in God. For me, taking the time to pray to God in the morning is the best way to start my day. I enjoy spending time with God in the morning because I am starting my day off positive and full of hope for a great day ahead.

#2 Reading the Word

I remember as a child my mom instilled in me the importance of reading God's Word. I remember when I was getting ready for school my mom would always remind me to read Psalm 91. Back then I didn't fully understand why my mom wanted me to read Psalm 91 but as I got older I started to understand why. When I read Psalm 91 I realize how powerful that chapter is in the book of Psalm. Psalm 91:10-11 says "No evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go.” Those two verses right there reminds me of God's protection. My mom wanted to instill in me how powerful God is and how God protects his children. Years later I still read Psalm 91 before I leave my home. Another chapter in Psalm my mom shared with me as a child was Psalm 121. Even though my mom is no longer with me I thank her for instilling that in me. I hope you didn't mind me sharing my story but I wanted to make a point.

Reading God's word can give you peace and increase your faith. When I read different scriptures in the Bible it gives me hope that everything will be alright. My faith grows stronger because I am reading God's promises and my faith is being restored.

#3 Giving God the Praise

My third tip is praise and worship. Psalm 69:30 says “I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him in thanksgiving.” Worship will get you through the hardest times in your life. It shifts your focus from your problems to the problem solver which is God! When I put on a good gospel song and get my praise on, I feel immediately better. I will choose a particular song to listen to and it can replace my worry with peace in a heartbeat.

If I'm going through a season where I am frustrated, I need God's guidance and I need my faith uplifted. I will choose a go to song that will uplift me and increase my faith. I do listen to other songs but I love having a go to song I can listen to.

My go to song at the moment is called Victory, a song sung by Yolanda Adams. When I play that song I get joy in my spirit and I start rejoicing because I know I got sweet victory in Jesus. I know my neighbors are probably tired of hearing it lol. But I don't care. I am giving God the praise and it restores my faith in the Almighty God.

I pray that these tips can be a blessing in your life because it has definitely helped me on my journey. I pray you continue to be Blessed and Highly Favored in the Almighty God.
